Hasta luego Vaasa!

We spent the whole day packing my stuff, carrying boxes and furniture down from the apartment and cleaning. But now it´s finally done! I only have one back with me and I´m sleeping on Anna´s coutch since I still have 3 days left at work. On wednesday I head straight to Tampere after work and get ready for x-mast. Need to enjoy my last days in Finland and take the most of ´em. Gracias Vaasa y hasta luego! <3

It makes me kinda sad to leave Vaasa for the first time after I started my studies but at the same time I couldn´t be more eager to experience life in Spain. I´m packing my stuff to cardboard boxes, Iina moved to my coutch since her stuff has already been taken, I still have to study for 2 more exams and work till next wednesday.. No time for x-mast shopping...

Independent Finland!

We celebrated the 5th of December with style! None of us was too bummed after we didn´t receive an invitation to the presidential castle...since we had a party of our own! Way better and so much more fun! 

Now that I´ve recovered from the independence day festivities I need to find the strenght to host a party for our old student union board and the one that´s gonna be in charge next year..It´s time to hand over the power! And as if that wouldn´t be enough...On saturday it´ll be time for our farewell party that we´ll be hosting with a group of friends that are all leaving Finland. 150 amazing friends attending <3

And I don´t even have an advent calendar yet!

This is the first holiday season when I don´t feel ´christmassy` at all. Our appartment will bee filled with cardboard boxes soon and the only x-mast decorations that I can enjoy are candels and I´m even getting a bit frustrated with those since I´m just tryin´to get rid of them before I move. And that´ll be in 3 weeks.. I´ll stay a week or so in Tampere with the family and then the time that´s left,  in Helsinki <3
Lots of tears ahead but at the same time...loads of anticipation!

Rest of the year will be just marvellous!

Last weekend we celebrated our student union´s 28th birthday! Now I´m finally able to relax as everything is falling into it´s own place. School is not giving me that much headache anymore since I have a new attitude towards it. I´ll manage what I´ll manage and the rest I´ll do later ;) Then I finally sent the rest of my application forms to Madrid so everything should be clear now. All I have to do is find an apartment and move out of the one in Vasa..

Rest of the week will be spent at the library, studying for the friday´s exam in public law... After the exam I´ll head straight to Helsinki for the first half of the weekend and then to Tampere to celebrate father´s day in a nice restaurant <3

Pefect ending for a super stressful week! We celebrated Severi´s birthday with amazing food, wine, and globe fish sake (!).. Severi had brought it from Japan and he basically wasted it last night since all of us hated it!

Next saturday my girls from Tampere come for a visit <3 And starting on sunday, I´ll get to spend a week in Tampere since it´ll be an autumn holiday!

Today I´ve been fighting with an airline on the phone after they informed me that they have cancelled the flights from barcelona to madrid... So I ended up changing the airline..Now it´ll be Helsinki-Madrid instead of Tampere-Madrid  and costs a bit more.
Just waiting what happens next...

Tough day at tritonia! After yesterday´s Rock the disco and ´Get rich or die trying´ party, we managed to stay in the library for a couple of hours studying and watching the storm through the windows before we decided to head home and do some baking for our filmnight :P So effective!

Chill sunday!

Finally the perfect autumn weather has arrived to Vaasa! A tried to begin my sunday with a little studying but it didn´t take too long before I gave up and left for a walk with Iina. After all...we only get a handfull of such beautifull days in Vaasa. Have to take the best of ´em!

After the walk I went to movies with Hanna and we saw the most amazing film! (I´ve been blown away by films twise this weekend.....so it´s been the perfect post surgery break!). This one was ´Eat,Pray,love´ with Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem. It was a beautiful journey in amazing landscapes (Italy,India,Bali) and it made me even more anxious about my own approaching trip! And Javier was soooo HOT!

I just cannot wait to start my own journey in Spain, France and wherever I decide to go during my exchange. No stress, no strict schedules and no requirements that need to be constantly met..

All in all...a perfect sunday!
...However I need to pay for the slacking next week. So much to study before the friday´s exam..

Lovin´ the post surgery phase! Except the fact that I´m in pain... But now I have a perfectly good explanation for slacking and just watching movies. I´ll gather the strength for studying later.. We just watched an amazing film with Iina! The blind side <3

Espanto!

Yesterday was great! I did´n fall on the catwalk and the clothes were fabulous! The shoes that I wore especially!

         Now I´m struggling not to buy ´em since saving for the exchange is difficult enough as it is.... After the show I was too excited not to go out so we headed to a student party..again. Thursday lectures are such a drag!

Now I´m nervous for tomorrow cause I´m getting both of my lower wisdom teeth removed. Lots of soups and ice cream in the freezer! I´m prepared to spend my weekend on the coutch with good company, ice cream and films. Jaiks..

Can´t concentrate!

I´m sitting on lectures and writing ´to do´ lists to perceive what there is yet to do... And the list is not short... Mostly there´s just errands I need to run for our student union before I can let someone else step in and take the responsibilities off my shoulders.. But moreover I need to sort out everything concerning the exchange.. but that´s just pleasant since the hustle comes with an excitement ;)

When I add the 7 exams that I need to pass this term to my schedule...I´m pretty sure I´m gonna lose my mind...or just skip a few courses and and take ´em later..

BTW...watched the movie ´reindeer spotting´ last night... And hated it. Not even the film ´Paha maa´ had made me so distressed! But still worth watching..

Now I´m off to a dress rehearsal of Marimekko´s fashion show. My friend talked me into modeling for ´em with no experience what so ever... panicking...

White Lies - Unfinished Business

Domingo.

So my knee pains returned... And I decided not to spend the weekend at the Kuortane´s sports academy after all since I thought I shouldn´t waste the weekend sitting in the hotel room sulking. Instead I spent the weekend in Vaasa (again). I already thought and hoped that my knees were fine after the summer injuries. But I guess I was being too eager with training. So it´ll be level-headed training from now on... And maybe in January I can finally pack my running shoes in my suitcase and continue running in Spain. If it goes well...it´ll be stockholm marathon 2011!! (in case I´m ready to return in the spring)

                                 And if I never run again.....climbing turned out to be...interesting

                                                          Just kidding, I won´t give up!

Now I need to start getting ready for my first exam in the administrative studies... At last a sunday when I actually manage to get something done.. Roughly translated, the course is `Management and conduct`.... Such a stride from Shakespeare´s texts and linguistic analysis e.g. Wish me luck!

No comprendo de la pregunta..

An answer that I learned today....`I don´t understand the question`.. Brilliant, given that I probably end up repeating it a lot after I move! We are not doing so great with our Spanish studies with Kaisa at the moment.. After our 4-hours-long lesson, we spent an hour and a half with our homework (several pages long) and managed to get 1 exercise done... Soooo frustrating!

Anyway... finally done with the super long and hard week. Now I have sent my applications to Spain (just a formality since I´ve already been accepted) and booked the flights (3.1)! The most stressful thing however is still ahead....Me and my roommate need to sublet our apartment since we are both moving abroad...AND I need to find an apartment where to live in Spain. To do that from Finland should be interesting to say the least..

THEN! I finally solved the crisis that I have been dealing with concerning my studies. After 2 years in the university, I decided to minor in administrative studies as well.. So I might not be a teacher in the future after all. At least now I´ll have other options as well. I just hope that I´ll (all of a sudden)  manage with a very different kind of studies than what I´m used to.. But  it should prepare me for my studies in Spain, since there I´ll be studying ECONOMICS!!

Can there be anything better than listening to amazing Marina and the Diamonds live in a tent full of people who absolutely love her music? She exceeded all my expectations at last summer´s FLOW festival. Even though the festival lined up amazing artists such as MIA, the XX, Villa Nah and Robyn, Marina was the one I fell in love with. Abolutely Fabulous <3

In case I end up spending the next summer travelling in Spain and Europe, I have to be back in Finland by the end of August for the biggest and most stylish event in Finland. It´ll be Flow 11!

Illaks omat vaatteet vihdoin päälle! Vaasan keskiviikkoöitä pitää nyt kyl alkaa vastustaan tehokkaammin. Kouluun pitäs alkaa selviään torstaisinkin. Huomenna jälleen 4 tuntia espanjaa, joten päivä menee tehokkaasti läksyjä tehdessä. Viikonlopuks pakoon kuortaneen urheiluopistolle!

Puoli vuotta sitten, lupauduin puheenjohtajaksi kieltenlukijoiden hallitukselle.. Huolettomat ajat Madridissa alkaa olla jo päällimäisenä mielessä, mutta viimeiset velvollisuudet on vaan hoidettava! Tänään Vaasan yliopiston uudet opiskelijat kastetaan, siispä haalarit jalkaan...(mahdollisesti ja toivottavasti viimeisiä kertoja oman yliopistourani aikana)

Intensiivistä Espanjan opiskelua!

Aikaa Espanjaan muuttoon jäljellä 3 kuukautta, joten on varmaan korkee aika alottaa Espanjan kielen opiskelu... Nyt siis istun espanjan tunneilla 8 tuntia viikossa ja yritän opetella täysin vieraita äänteitä ja kasvattaa sanavarastoa. Läksyjä saa muiden opintojen lisäks tehdä melkein päivittäin, jos meinaa pysyä perässä. Tulee ikävä yläasteaikoja kun ensimmäinen kuukausi opetellaan kuukausia, viikonpäiviä ja numeroita yms. Kun kolmannen luennon jälkeen meillä pitäis olla hallussa jo pronombres posesivos, preposiciónes y presente de indicativo. Mutta kolmen kuukauden intensiivikurssin jälkeen tietenkin helpompi hypätä kunnon kielikylpyyn keskelle Madridia :)
